To edit a product's cautions:Note: This feature is available only to administrators and to inventory assistants with permission to edit product data.
Edit a product's cautions when you need to enter or change any of the following data shown on its Cautions page:
Signal word: A word signaling the product's level of toxicity. From slightly toxic to most toxic: Caution, Warning, Danger.
Reactive with: Any substances/conditions with which the product is chemically reactive.
Pictograms: Symbols from US and/or Canadian regulatory standards indicating product dangers or required safety equipment.
Hazards: One or more common hazards that apply to the product.
Target Organs: The human organs and/or biological systems most susceptible to harm from the product's hazards.
Storage: Temperature range in which the product must be stored.
Notes: Any additional notes relevant to the product's cautions.
When you save your changes, they become visible to any user viewing the product's cautions.
To edit a product's cautions:
Starting at the Product Information page
Click the EDIT button at the top of the display.
Note: This button appears only when you are logged in as a) an administrator, or b) an inventory assistant with permission to edit product data.
The Information Administration page opens, showing the areas of product data you can edit.
In the Modify Indexes area, click Cautions.
The Cautions display shows the product's currently recorded cautions as check boxes and fields.
Edit any of the data displayed:
USA Pictograms: Select all pictograms that represent this product's hazards and required safety equipment. (Mouse-over a pictogram to read its meaning.)
Canada Pictograms: Select all pictograms that represent this product's hazards. (Mouse-over a pictogram to read its meaning.)
Target Organs: Select the human organs and biological systems most susceptible to harm from this product's hazards.
Hazards: Select all hazards that apply to this product.
Status: Select a signal word appropriate to this product's level of toxicity. From slightly toxic to most toxic: Caution, Warning, Danger.
Reactive with: Enter any substances/conditions with which this product is chemically reactive.
Store Above/Below: Enter the low/high temperatures (respectively) of the temperature range in which the product should be stored. Select the desired temperature unit in the field provided.
Notes: Enter any additional notes relevant to the product's cautions.
Note: If you need to refer to the product's MSDS, click [View MSDS] in the upper right to open the product's MSDS in a new window.
Click Save in the lower right.
Your changes are saved. All changes are immediately visible to any user viewing the product's cautions.
